PRODUCTION CAPABILITIES

Co.Me.Ar. delivers a vertically integrated supply model

designed to simplify and optimize customers’ supply chains in terms of operational efficiency, streamlining planning, logistics, and procurement activities.

The offering is based on the integration of in-house production capabilities, including machining, de-burring, grinding, and lapping—and other services provided by a qualified supply chain, composed of certified raw material suppliers and selected partners for special processes.

This approach enables Co.Me.Ar. to offer modular supply solutions, ranging from single machining operations to fully verticalized components, managing all stages of the process: from material sourcing to mechanical machining, including treatments and special processes.

Co.Me.Ar. specializes in precision mechanical machining for the aerospace and industrial sectors, providing full process management and an integrated supply chain.

IN-HOUSE PRODUCTION CAPABILITIES

MACHINING

Co.Me.Ar.’s production layout is designed to ensure efficiency, flexibility, and operational continuity, and is based on a machine park of over 60 latest-generation CNC machines, mainly 5-axis multitasking machining centers, capable of integrating turning and milling operations for complex geometries and tight tolerances.

  • Turning, milling, drilling
  • Superfinishing, grinding, and lapping
  • Hard milling, hard turning
  • Dimensional capabilities: up to Ø 1,500 mm and 3,000 mm in length

The production layout is engineered to maximize efficiency and operational continuity.

  • Approximately 60 latest-generation CNC machines
  • Integrated multitasking centers, 5-axis machining
  • High-automation FMS systems (Flexible Manufacturing Systems)
  • Centralized production management and performance monitoring

Thanks to the expertise of its technicians, highly specialized CNC operators, a diversified machine park, and the advanced use of multitasking and FMS technologies, supported by CAD/CAM systems, Co.Me.Ar. ensures high production flexibility, efficiently managing both high-volume serial production and small batch manufacturing, typical of the aeronautical and aerospace sectors.

The production layout is completed by:

  • Cutting department
  • 4 precision fitting and manual deburring departments, equipped with ultrasonic cleaning systems and binocular and endoscopic inspection controls, as well as a dedicated area for the production of special tooling developed by the in-house technical office
  • 4 dimensional inspection areas, operating 24/7
  • In-house tool shop for the manufacturing of special equipment
  • Dedicated area for assembly and bonding operations

The combination of technology, know-how, and process control enables Co.Me.Ar. to effectively manage complex machining operations, ensuring consistent quality, repeatability, and supply reliability.

Proven expertise in machining high-performance materials: special steels, aluminum alloys, titanium, Inconel®, for aerospace and industrial applications.

Production starting from bars, tubes, semi-finished components, forgings, and castings.

This flexibility enables us to support customers across different stages of the component development and production lifecycle.

The combination of technology, know-how, and process control allows Co.Me.Ar. to effectively handle complex machining, ensuring consistent quality, repeatability, and supply reliability.

Partneships

The collaboration with the parent company UMBRAGROUP began over 30 years ago, long before COMEAR and BSP officially joined the Group in 2023.

The relationship between COMEAR and UMBRAGROUP has been characterized from the outset by strong bilateral collaboration, operational and industrial integration, and a high level of synergy. While COMEAR has consistently acted as a strategic build-to-print supplier for precision mechanical machining and vertically integrated components, UMBRAGROUP has contributed its technologies and special processes, further strengthening the competitiveness and value of the overall industrial system.

UMBRAGROUP has consistently made its technologies and special processes available, further strengthening the competitiveness and value of the entire industrial system.

COMEAR is an active member of the Umbria Aerospace Cluster since its establishment.

The Cluster is an association that represents and promotes, at regional, national, and international levels, companies operating in the aeronautical, aerospace, and defense sectors, enhancing their expertise and excellence. Its goal is to foster synergies, share know-how and business opportunities, support internationalization processes, and promote innovation.

The aim is to strengthen the role of the Umbrian Cluster as a key reference point in the industry, both in Italy and internationally.

BSP is a sister company of Co.Me.Ar., sharing its history, ownership, and organizational model. The two companies operate in close synergy, integrating their respective competencies: BSP specializes in turning operations, including large diameters and volumes, while Co.Me.Ar. provides support through milling and complex drilling operations, ensuring a complete and efficient production offering.

COMEAR and BSP collaborate with EMS in the production of mechanical components for electric motors and electromagnetic braking systems, which represent the core business of this highly specialized and dynamic company, based in Albanella (SA) and recently integrated into UMBRAGROUP.
